Fixture context menu

The right-click and long-press menu on a placed fixture — rotate, hide or show rough-in dims, duplicate, open properties on mobile, and delete.

Right-click a fixture on desktop, or long-press one on mobile, to open the fixture context menu. It carries the actions you reach for most after a fixture is on the canvas — rotating, hiding the rough-in dim lines, duplicating, opening the property sheet on mobile, and deleting.

This is the dedicated reference for that menu. For the broader picture of every menu branch (walls, openings, guides, annotations, empty canvas), see Canvas context menu.

How to open the menu

  • Desktop: right-click anywhere on the fixture.
  • Mobile: long-press the fixture. The browser's default right-click menu is suppressed on web so the app menu opens instead.

If the fixture isn't already selected, opening the menu selects it. If the fixture is already part of a multi-selection, the selection is preserved and the menu leads with Duplicate Selection (N items) above the type-specific entries — see the multi-select section below.

Entry When it appears What it does
Duplicate Selection (N items) Multi-select, with the clicked fixture part of the selection Duplicates every entity in the current selection together as one undo step. Each copy lands 150 mm down and to the right of its original. The new copies become the selection so you can drag them as a group right away.
Hide Dims / Show Dims Plumbing rough-ins only Toggles the orange dim lines (the "spider" radiating from the rough-in) for this one fixture. Independent of the master Rough-In Dims layer toggle in the entity panel — even with the layer ON globally, a fixture muted here stays muted. See Plumbing rough-ins.
Rotate 90° All fixtures Rotates the fixture clockwise by 90 degrees around its centre. Click again to keep rotating.
Rotate 45° All fixtures Rotates the fixture clockwise by 45 degrees around its centre. Useful for angled cabinets or a fixture placed against a 45° wall.
Properties Mobile only, single fixture Opens the full property sheet for the fixture. On desktop the same content is always visible in the right-rail entity panel, so the entry is hidden there.
Duplicate All fixtures Drops a copy 50 mm to the right of the original, with the original's width baked into the offset so the new copy lands just past the original's right edge. The duplicate becomes the new selection. Inherits the original's type, dimensions, rotation, color, and options.
Delete All fixtures Removes the fixture. Undo brings it back as one step.

Which fixtures count as plumbing rough-ins for Hide Dims

The Hide Dims / Show Dims entry only appears on:

  • Toilet Rough-In
  • Sink Rough-In
  • Washer / Dryer Rough-In
  • Bar Sink Rough-In
  • Tub Rough-In
  • Shower Rough-In
  • Floor Drain
  • Plumbing Stack

Regular fixtures (vanity, fridge, cabinet, couch, etc.) don't carry rough-in dims, so the menu skips the entry. The electrical pillar symbols and the electrical panel rectangle don't carry rough-in dims either.

Multi-select behaviour

When more than one entity is selected and you right-click a fixture that's part of the selection, the menu opens with Duplicate Selection at the top, then the same type-specific entries below. The selection is preserved — the right-click doesn't collapse it back to the one fixture.

  • Duplicate Selection acts on the whole multi-select group, including walls, openings, guides, annotations, and tape dims that happen to be in the selection alongside the fixture.
  • Delete at the bottom of the menu acts on the single fixture you right-clicked, NOT the whole selection. To delete the whole group instead, press the Delete key (or use the menu's Duplicate Selection entry first, then delete the original group).

If you right-click a fixture that ISN'T part of the current selection, the selection collapses to just that fixture before the menu opens.

What's NOT on the menu

A few actions look like they belong here but live elsewhere:

  • Resize — change Width / Height in the entity panel (desktop right rail; mobile property sheet).
  • Change color — entity panel Color swatch row.
  • Auto-orient and lock-to-wall toggles — entity panel Behavior section. See Auto-orient and lock to wall.
  • Move along a wall — drag the fixture on the canvas. There's no menu entry for it.
  • From Wall distance (wall-locked rough-ins only) — entity panel field for the type. See Plumbing rough-ins.

Tips

  • Rotate 90° and Rotate 45° stack. Click Rotate 90° three times to land at 270°, or 90° + 45° to land at 135°.
  • Each rotation click pushes one history step, so a sequence of clicks undoes in reverse order one at a time.
  • The entity panel shows the fixture's current rotation as a read-only value under the Rotation row — useful as a confirmation, but the only ways to actually rotate a fixture in v1 are the Rotate 90° and Rotate 45° menu entries here. The context menu rotations are coarse on purpose — fast moves for common cases.
  • The duplicate's 50 mm offset lands the copy just past the original's right edge — useful for laying out a row of identical cabinets. After duplicating, drag the copy where you want it, or duplicate again to chain.
  • Hide Dims on a single rough-in is the cleanest way to clear visual clutter when one rough-in is buried under a vanity or toilet — the master rough-in layer toggle stays on globally, but the buried marker stops drawing its spider legs.
