Entity panel (desktop)

The right-rail properties panel that adapts to whatever is selected — walls, openings, fixtures, guides, annotations, or the room itself.

The entity panel is the right-side rail on desktop that shows properties for whatever you've got selected. With nothing selected it shows room info, flooring, and layer toggles. Pick a wall and it switches to wall properties. Pick a fixture, opening, guide, annotation, or tape dim and it switches again. This page is the reference for what shows up in each branch.

The entity panel is the desktop right rail. On mobile, the same content is accessed through the entity info button at the bottom-right of the canvas.

Nothing selected — Room info, flooring, and layers

When nothing is selected, the panel shows the active room's properties.

Room Info

The room's name lives in the rooms tab bar above the canvas — rename it there by long-pressing the tab. The panel shows the room's measurements and counts:

Field What it controls
Ceiling Height The room's ceiling height, used by walls that don't override it. Default 8' / 2438.4 mm.
Walls / Doors / Windows Counts of each entity type in the room.
Area Computed square footage / square metres when the room is a closed shape. Reads Open walls if the room hasn't closed yet.

Flooring

A type dropdown (None, Tile, Hardwood, LVP, Carpet, Concrete) with type-specific follow-ups — tile size, pattern, grout width, plank width, direction. Pick a colour from the swatch palette, and add a Product Name for print legends. Patterns available for tile are stacked, 50/50, 70/30, herringbone, and diagonal. Direction toggles between horizontal and vertical.

Layers

Toggle the visibility of each layer on the plan:

  • Exterior Walls / Interior Walls
  • Dimensions
  • Doors / Windows
  • Floor / Appliances / Cabinetry / Electrical
  • Rough-In Dims
  • Annotations / Guides / Measurement Marks

Layer state is per-session — it controls what you see on the canvas right now. The print dialog has its own independent layer choices.

Wall selected — Wall Properties

See the dedicated reference: Wall properties. Fields: Name, Length (with anchor buttons), Angle (read-only), Thickness, Height, Exterior Wall toggle, Existing toggle, and a Delete Wall button at the bottom.

Opening selected (door / window / cased opening)

The panel header reads Door Properties, Window Properties, or Opening Properties depending on the type — the type itself is shown there, not as a separate field. To reposition an opening along its wall, drag it directly on the canvas.

Field What it controls
Name Free-text label, defaults to Door N / Window N / Opening N.
Width / Height Opening dimensions.
Sill Height Windows only. Distance from finished floor to the bottom of the opening.
Subtype Patio doors only. Switches between Patio (sliding glass) and Terrace.
Swing Doors only. Four-cell grid: left-in, left-out, right-in, right-out. Pick the cell that matches how the door opens in real life.
Show Arc Doors only. Toggles the door swing arc on the plan.
Double Door Doors only. Renders two leaves instead of one.
Exterior Toggle. Marks the opening as part of the building envelope.
Trim Width Width of the casing trim on the plan. Drives the rendered trim thickness.
Door Style / Slab Type / Hardware Doors only. Spec-sheet dropdowns that flow into the print legend.
Notes Free-text per-opening note.
Existing Toggle. Marks the opening as existing construction (vs. new).
Delete button Removes the opening. The button text reads Delete Door / Delete Window / Delete Opening.

Guide selected

Field What it controls
Type Horizontal Line / Vertical Line / Pin (read-only).
X / Y The guide's anchor coordinates. Horizontal guides show Y Position only; vertical guides show X Position only; pin guides show both fields, labelled simply X and Y.
Delete Guide button Removes the guide.

Fixture selected — Fixture Properties

Field What it controls
Name Free-text label, defaults to the fixture type plus an index.
Type Read-only type label.
Width / Height Plan-view footprint (the fields are labelled "Width" and "Height" on the panel; "Height (3D)" below is the separate vertical dimension).
Height (3D) The vertical dimension used by the 3D viewer. Hidden for upper cabinets (which have a dedicated cabinet height dropdown).
Rotation Read-only — shown in degrees. Use the Rotate 90° / Rotate 45° menu entries to adjust.
Color Swatch palette for the fixture's plan colour.
Existing Toggle. Marks the fixture as existing construction (vs. new).
Type-specific options Vanity basin count, cabinet height, electrical amperage, rough-in distance from wall, and similar fields per fixture type.
Auto-orient / Lock to wall Per-instance toggles where applicable. Override the per-type defaults for this one fixture.
Delete button Removes the fixture.

Annotation or tape dim selected

The panel switches to the annotation editor for text content, font, colour, leader style (for leader text), and similar properties. Tape dims get line style (solid / dashed), label background colour, and an Apply to all bulk button.

When an annotation tool is active and nothing is selected

If you've picked the Text, Leader Text, Segment Dim, or Tape Measure tool but haven't placed anything yet, the panel shows a Defaults sub-panel for that tool — the font, colour, size, and style that the next placement will use. Set the defaults once and the next dozen labels match.

Tips

  • The panel never collapses on desktop — if it looks blank, you've got nothing selected, and the Room Info / Flooring / Layers view is showing.
  • Layer toggles affect the canvas only. The print dialog has separate Section choices that don't read from the panel toggles.
  • Editing a field commits as soon as you tab out or press Enter. There's no Save button per field — the change applies immediately and is included in the next autosave.
  • For the mobile equivalent, see Entity info button on mobile.
